A client cannot log in to the portal, what now?

In most cases, this is easy to check and resolve yourself. By checking the options below, you can often help the client further.

If a client cannot log in to the portal, you can take the following steps:

Requesting a password doesn't work:

  • Check registration: Look in the client file to see if the invitation has been accepted. If it says "Client is (not yet) active in the client portal", the client has not yet accepted the invitation. You can resend the activation link via the 'Client portal' tab.
  • Email address: Check that the email address the client is trying to log in with or use to request a password exactly matches the address in the system.
  • Spam: Check whether the emails from wachtwoord@praktijk.online have ended up in the client's spam folder.

Received link is invalid:

  • One-time use: Security links can only be used once.
  • Multiple requests: If a client has requested multiple resets, only the most recent link is valid; earlier links expire.
  • Preview issues: On mobile devices (iPhone/iPad), loading a "link preview" can cause the link to be marked as "used" before the client actually opens it. Advise the client not to double-click or long-press on the link.

Password doesn't work:

  • Typos: Watch out for confusing characters like '0'/'O' or 'I'/'l'. Advise the client to copy and paste the password.
  • Browser autofill: Browsers sometimes automatically fill in the wrong (old) email address on the login screen.
